Despite only a sprinkling of action scenes and some other flaws, these eight episodes continue a compelling narrative and regularly satisfying level of dramatic tension. Giving one of the main characters a villainous bent proves especially interesting.
Shana DVD 1While it's too early to tell where the series is ultimately headed, it's certainly off to a strong start. Because it lacks hype, this one might fly under your anime radar, but shouldn't. Its depth and development places it a notch above other series of its type.
