Joo Jin-mo

Joo Jin-mo (b. August 11, 1975) began his acting career in TV dramas and some minor roles in film. He was first cast as a lead in Dance Dance (1999), Korea's only dance film, for which he underwent extensive dance training. Although the film itself did not perform well, it leant Joo some publicity before he broke through with the box-office and critical hit Happy End. His role as a spurned lover in this psycho-drama attracted considerable notice in Korea, and the film itself also traveled to Hong Kong.

After taking the lead in Kim Ki-duk's mildly experimental Real Fiction (which was shot in 3 1/2 hours without any retakes), Joo took a major role in the much-hyped Musa, set in 14th century China and starring Zhang Ziyi from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. He also acted in Wanee and Junah, a melodrama about a screenwriter and an animator opposite popular actress Kim Hee-sun.

In 2003 he was rumored to take the lead role in an action blockbuster from Sidus Pictures, and also in the latest film by veteran director Park Kwang-su, but both films were then cancelled due to a lack of financing. Joo's return to the screen came in spring 2004, in the comedy Liar based on the play Run For Your Wife by Ray Cooney.

This drop dead gorgeous hunk first caught my attention when I watched Punch. Although boxing is not really my cup of tea, but I really love this series. He and Shin Min Ah looked really good together. For fans of Joo Jin Moo, do watch this series.

Here's a brief synopsis of Punch.

Joo Jin Moo plays a boxer named Lee Han Sae who gave up boxing after he killed a guy in a boxing match. But as fate would have it, he end up being the boxing coach of the sister of the guy that he killed and ends up falling in love with her too. Shin Min Ah played the role of the dead guy's sister called Jang Yu Bin. Both of them tried to forget each other as it was inconceivable that Jang Yu Bin could love a guy who killed her own brother. However, the bond between them was so strong that the more they tried to forget each other, the more they were drawn towards each other....

I would certainly recommend watching this series!



For those of you who are interested, he also has a new drama out, Queen of the Game which just started showing in Korea on 18 Nov 2006. The female lead in this series is Lee Bo Young (Mr. Goodbye, The Ballad of Suh Dong, Save the Last Dance for me)

He's the most handsome South-Korean actor! I saw him first time in Musa: The Warrior and I totally fell in love with him. After Musa I've seen Wanee & Junah, Happy End and few episodes of Fashion 70's and currently I'm watching Queen of the Game from YouTube. Queen of the Game is wonderful and exhiting Korean TV drama. I love Joo Jin-Mo's cool hairstyles, clothes and his cute nose and ears. He's so cute and so hot!! He looks like a man and not a teenage boy!!!

he is really hot... did not watch any of his earlier works.. but am watching queen of the game now... he totally set fire on my screen..haha! a real hunk and damm good looking, and he can really dress up as well - smoking hot for a south korean man!

Just found out about this actor after wactching Queen of the Game and he absolutely rocks in that k-drama!! not only is he is manly built, he got a really cute cheeky smile - he suits the rugged role as well as the sauve ulter rich kinda roles!! check out the latest k-drama!! it also has an interesting story line which kept me captivated - ie, not wanting to fast forward any parts and just hanging on word for word!!!

If you like Joo Jin Mo that get yourself more addicted to this great and utterly gorgerous actor . The new drama call " The queen of game " . It's drama should be up there w/ the top 10 of the Korean dramas like : winter sonata , beautiful days , heaven tree , which planet are you from , ect...

I am watching Queen of Game right now. I think he does a really good job in it. His acting is very convincing. Although I am not sure about the chemistry between the 2 characters. i think their love for each other was progress too quickly and makes me feel that the chemistry is not really there.

i finished wtaching 200 pounds beauty just now and i gotta say this guy is frigging hot and so damn charming. I was so mesmerized by his charms and smile that im looking for his drama to watch

I just finished " Queen of Game". It's excellent series that I ever seen of my opinion. Anyone should see this series. The logation were nice, music, exspecially main actor and actress are so good together. I just surprise that this series is so good but not so popular. Love this serie and also love Joo Jin Mo and Lee Bo Yong. Recommend to everybody to see this series.
