BOY OF MANY NAMES
OH MY GOD!!!

Just got a bit of a shock.
You think you know someone.. or as much as possible.
And then they go and surprise you.

Ive just been scanning 'Hirofumi's' filmography from 'IMBD',
I'm making a nice neat, tick list booklet for my favourite actors, and im well happy because i have ( i thought, until i saw the updates) have everyone of Hirofumi's films.

But the thing is i was scanning his information when i came across this:

" Hirofumi Arai

Date of Birth
18 January 1979, Hirosaki, Aomori, Japan  ( K, Fine....)

Birth Name
Kyung-Sik Park   ( What the ......???????????????????!!!!!)

Height
5' 11¼" (1.81 m)

Trivia
Third generation Korean-Japanese. Changed from North to South Korean nationality in 2005. "

Anyone know of this??? or know what to make of it?.
Being half Korean is fine by me.. ofcourse it is, its just.. i never knew..or guessed... or even heard about it in all my 'Hirofumi-Fanship'.
It just sprung on me today out of the blue.

I realise 'IMBD' is a site which allows fans to 'Update' information themselves.. anyone think its a mistake..?

What do you guys think.. my dear fewly comm partners.

He doesnt look Korean at all, well i dont think, but i guess he took his 'Half Japanese' looks.

Cartoon Sketches
Hi-Hi,
I've come with some images of my new Hirofumi Cartoon.
its still rough and only pencil drawn so far.
its got some detail.
some of which there should hopefully be more of with colour, some of course being rubbed out and taken out.

This took me not much time at all, a couple of hours.. so im most probably gonna end up ruining it with colour.. just because nothing ever comes easier does it.

* yes the head, is supposed to be that big compared to the body!!. Thats just my style of Cartoon proportioning - the feet (and hands) balance out the head weight*.

Hope you like it.
Not sure when i can get it finished though, cos im at a concert tomorrow.. and then back to work.

SNEAK PREVIEW
Hirofumi Arai as Ro` from 'THe Whispering of the Gods'.

Neighbour no.13
So this is new on youtube.
This is the trailer to neighbour no.13 /renjin no 13go, (year 2004..5?).
Thriller/horro featuring Hirofumi and Shun Oguri.

Hirofumi is in this trailer.
remember 'wheres Wally (U.S = Waldo)
well its spot Hirofumi in this trailer, but dont fret, Hirofumi is the main character of this film along with Shun.. Hirofumi's featured more than anyone else in this film..

its got a twisting- head scratching end.. it'll take more than one watch of the film to get it clear, but its very good and certainly entertaining.

Only thing with this film though is, it makes you wanna be on Hirofumi's side even though Hirofumi is typically Hirofumi, and leaves you egging him on and hoping for him, instead of backing the 'good / inocents' side, and im sure the director never intended for that to happen.

look out for the two naked dancing men!

An entrance fit for a bad-boy
For anyone who hasnt seen this yet.
This is from the real funny film '69 Sixtynine',
This film is the funniest ive seen and should be put on the list of 'Things to do before i die'.
It stars 'Satoshi Tsumabuki', 'Ando Masanobu' and our lad.
So you got 3 talented stars to boot.
i'm sure we're all aware of the quality of these three actors works, so this definately a massive treat to the eyes. * just between you and me, as much as they all shine, Satoshi definately shines the most in this film, he's brilliant..but "Shhhhhhh..."*
well anyway, heres a small clip of our boy, and his entrance to '69'.
A Hirofumi entrance as only you'd expect it, and none less.
< and for anyone who believes its about time, that our loveable thug got a clip round ear, this is for you >.

this one would probably be the best picture to go in the back ground.
its beautiful, thank you loona.
the writing would show up...but its a bit dull, like grey and stuff.

hmmmmmmmm, im not sure.

do you think that will be better than this one?
aww i like this one, if we could get thicker writing, it would show up..
is there something we can do with the writing?
hmm not sure..

i cant wait till this comm. gets on the way, and i dont have to post these silly persoanl updates here, and i can sit back and read all the lovely posts, cos the comm will be perfect.

come on Hirofumi, bring out your film and get more recognition, hurry !!

* * *
is it ok?
Wow, everyone, thank you for joining.

im so glad you all have.
It's to see your posts too.And the 6 contributions of arts already. better than i could have hoped.

im thinking of a plan to get the writing to show up, or a better background pick. but its hard.

if anyone has any ideas, or could make a header or few perhaps.

Also, if anyone wants to share ideas i havent thought of for this comm. just write em down.
And if you think anything should change on the 'user info' page, if you want me to add a rule, take some away. Or ive gotten some infomation wrong ect. then please come say.

i want to keep it a nice, easy going place for everyone, and keep it to everyones ideal specification on how they want their Hirofumi Comm.

i havent put any security on the entries, or restiricted areas. i was hoping people could come and look around and hope to decide to join.
i can change it when our members fill up a bit..
or i can change it now.

It might be an idea to signature art pieces.
Toluenesister, if you didnt signiture and would like to, im happy to re-save your post with signatures (as protection for you).

So please hit me with your thoughts.

Hey there! >D

Great to see Hirofumi love spreading .^. This is my first post, but I'm no good at introducing myself... I just need to say I really adore this man - the aura that surrounds him, his acting skills, everything about him is just special! So, to share my adoration I'm gonna post some of my older drawings... (I wish I had more time to draw him now, but my schedule is so overloaded you cannot imagine... ><)

Here they are, hope you'll like them .^. As I said, they're quite old and I guess I would do it better now since I improved a little, but what the hell XD

THE WHISPERING OF THE GODS
I really cant wait for this film,

So thats bleddy good for us.

Heres some incredibly sexy pictures of our guy, that ive nicked.

(ahh, Sue Me)

A LITTLE PREVIEW (- pieces taken from the official site, link at the top of the page)
Rou has returned to the monastery he was raised in. As he listens to the whispering of the Gods through his germanium radio, Rou defies God in every which way and puts religion to the test.
Rou wanders through the story, encountering violence, distorted sex, and holiness, leaving the audience shocked and thought-provoked.

(Hirofumi always leaves the audiance shocked and thought-provoked, thats what he does best)

Based on the Akutagawa award-winning novel by Hanamura Mangetsu, the film is directed by Tatsushi Omori. Omori made his directorial debut with this film, after he worked as assistant director for directors such as Sakamoto Junji and Izutsu Kazuyuki.
"'The Whispering of the Gods' I believe, is the most powerful Japanese film I have seen during 2005. Certainly, in it, director Omori Tatsushi makes the memorable debut."
----------Donald Richie/film critic
"Tatsushi Omori's 'The Whispering of the Gods,'a feature film debut, is destined to make the rounds of international festivals on thematic material alone."
----------Ronald Halloway/film critic

(There 2 other covers that are so much nicer than this..but they wouldnt let me have them, sorry)

This picture, he looks abit like Ryuhei Matsuda i think.

and a few critics
1)
Asahi Shinbun (December 20th, 2005)
Now, here is an incredible film. The artistic world expressed in this soul-shaking film has gone way beyond the realm of Japanese film.Based on the Akutagawa award-winning novel by Mangetsu Hanamura, the film is directed by newcomer Tatsushi Omori. The film is staged in a rural, snowy monastery, but the location remains anonymous throughout the film. It would be meaningless to try to explain the film, for nothing in the film is ever explanatory. The only thing one can do is just observe the human relationships shown-- gorged with violence and abnormal sex. One thing is for sure; This rookie director surely is no average rookie.
In the confines of the monastery is a ranch, a chicken farm, and a school. A young man who works there(Hirofumi Arai) is the main character, and his mysterious, instinct-driven words and deeds draw the lines of this film. His sexual service towards the head priest(Renji Ishibashi), his violent and sexual feud with his colleagues, his seduction towards a nun(Leona Hirota), his sexual acts with a young novice (Megumi Sawara), and his confession of murder to a priest(Kei Sato) all are extremely intense, but are expressed in a straight-forward manner.
In midst of the chaotic mixture of depravity and holiness, is a wandering soul of a young man. He wanders through issues such as sin, punishment, god, the act of defying god, and salvation, as he listens to the whisperings of the gods through his Germanic radio. The cleanliness that exists throughout the film -- despite the abundance of sex and violence -- is surely noteworthy. Arai does an excellent job in expressing this cleanliness, as he brilliantly acts out the suffering of an innocent soul. The film begins in snowy winter, and ends in spring -- informing all of new life -- suggesting this purity and cleanliness.
The film will open at a theater built especially for this film, placed in the Tokyo National Museum. The executive producer of the film is Genjiro Arato, the man who once screened "Zigeunerweisen" in a tent, declaring "direct delivery" as his slogan.

Sadao Yamane

..............
2)Mainichi Shinbun (January 6th, 2006)
Outrageous. This film defies all conventional emotions, morals, and virtues. The audience will find themselves thrown-off rather than understood, and feel chaos instead of feeling sympathy.

The film is based on Mangetsu Hanamura's novel. Rou(Hirofumi Arai), who has committed murder is back for hiding in the rural, snowy monastery he grew up in. Rou is lost in the definition of sin, and shows no remorse for his crimes. Without resistance, he serves to satisfy the head priest's (Renji Ishibashi) sexual desires, has sex with a young girl Kyoko (Megumi Sawara), and rapes a nun (Leona Hirota). Surrounding Rou is an abundance of violence, distorted sex, and death, but there is no standard as to what is normal in the closed confines of the monastery. The holiness of the priest listening to Rou's confession, and the brutality of amputating a mating pig's penis, are both lined up and equalized. The snow-covered expressionless scenery, and Arai's rigid but transparent existence break common atmosphere. All that stands is Rou, who hears voices of gods through his rad, and sniffs other peoples toes.

This is not a pleasant film. Most would more likely feel discomfort at first. However, what is shown here is the true nature of humans that many try not to look at. The film affirms humans, without the quick fix of catharsis and humanism. The film will test your sensitivity - whether you can face the extraordinary power, or not.

....
Just makes it sound all the more better.
