Sai Wan Ho & Aldrich Bay

Sai Wan Ho is an area on the northeastern shore of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong, between Quarry Bay and Shau Kei Wan. Its only point of real interest for many visitors (espacially HK movie fans) is The Hong Kong Film Archive.

Opened in 2001, the film archive hosts many old and new Chinese movies (many without subtitles), as well as having the occasional film exhibit. It also has a library thats a treasure trove for anyone doing research on HK cinema as it has many out of print books.

The cinema is only small, so if you are thinking of going to a movie, you might want to get tickets first.

The Chinese name for Aldrich Bay roughly translates to "The Bay that Loves Discipline". Its a bay just up the road from Sai Wan Ho in Shau Kei Wan. I decided to include them both here. Formerly a bay, but now a reclaimed housing estate, Aldrich Bay is cool if you like boats.

To reach Sai Wan Ho and Aldrich Bay, take the MTR and alight at Sai Wan Ho station. You can also alight at Shau Kei Wan for Aldrich Bay.
