About M-Dream

M-Dream was launched on August 12th 2000 and is now on version 14.

It started out originally as a website for my music as I used to record under the monicker of 'Maian Dream'. Later on the Asian stuff took over and I dropped the music and the 'Maian', hence now simply M-Dream. I did retain the 'Maian' tag on my script site though, a link for which can be found below.

About Me

My name is David and I currently live in England. I read a lot, watch lots of Asian movies, listen to lots of Asian music, go to Hong Kong every year and my favourite singer is beautiful Chinese superstar Faye Wong. Japan`s equally gorgeous Ayumi Hamasaki comes in a close second.

Thats about as interesting as it gets. I also have a few other websites, links to all are found below.

Technology/Design Info

This is where I probably bamboozle most of you with some boring website technology. Apologies if you read this next section and have no idea what its about.

M-Dream is coded in PHP with a MySQL backend. All PHP and database programming was done by myself. The design layout is courtesy of Template World. v13 was the first time M-Dream has used a pre-designed template for its base.

v13 also saw some rather nifty Javascript/Ajax & Flash effects. The gallery effects are created using Torstein Hønsi`s superb Highslide thumbnail viewer. Flash form effects are created using Coffee Cup Software. The slideshows utilise the excellent Photo Flash Maker Professional software.

The javascript navigation menu is courtesy of Dynamic Drive. The live entertainment rss news feeds (if enabled) are taken from various sources, again utilised with Coffee Cup Software. Finally, the smooth scroll was created by Stuart Langridge.

My thanks to these companies/individuals for their awesome work.

M-Dream should validate as valid XHTML1.0 and valid CSS. Errors are probably because of the crappy Google Adsense code.
